A Unique and Symbolic Side Table by Gabriela Campos

Designed by Gabriela Campos, the Sertao side table draws inspiration from Tarsila do Amaral's Abaporu, a masterpiece that is considered one of the most valuable Brazilian works of art. Tarsila do Amaral, who studied in France and brought her unique artistic vision back to Brazil, created a distinct visual language characterized by rounded shapes and vivid colors.

The Sertao side table captures the essence of Abaporu while reinterpreting it through the lens of contemporary design. It is a piece that challenges the eye with its fluid and organic lines, creating a sense of movement and playfulness. Handcrafted in Cruzilia, Minas Gerais, the Sertao side table is the result of the collaboration between Gabriela Campos and local artisans. The table features an MDF structure with lacquer paint and an American oak finish, showcasing the craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into its production.

With dimensions of 45 cm (17.7 in) in width, 30 cm (11.8 in) in depth, and 50 cm (19.7 in) in height, the Sertao side table is a versatile piece that can complement any interior space. Its unique design and symbolic references make it a statement piece that catches the eye and sparks conversation.

Throughout the design process, Gabriela Campos conducted extensive research to capture the essence of Tarsila do Amaral's work. From initial sketches to technical drawings and full-scale prototypes, every step was taken to ensure the table's stability, balance, and aesthetic appeal.
